5000 attend the Fairness at Work rally in  Auckland

More than 11,000 people have been fired under the National-ACT Government's 90 day "Fire at Will" legislation, but the Government isn't stopping further attacks on workers organising collectively. Current employment law changes being driven through will only result in lower wages and succeed in convincing more and more young New Zealanders that their future lies overseas.

The changes proposed to the Employment Relations Act attack collective bargaining - that's the way unions negotiate with employers. They will allow employers to end negotiations when they like, remove protection for new workers and make collective bargaining more difficult.
