Director Transformation and Innovation

Are you an experienced change manager who shares our passion for education?

We are looking for a multi-talented individual to lead the organisation to take on new technologies, and foster a culture of innovation and growth.

You will have successfully led organisational culture change before. And you will bring a range of tools and approaches to help our staff and members successfully adapt to innovation and change.

You will be knowledgeable about new and emerging technologies, the importance of digital innovation in change processes and be able to manage staff and contractors to source and successfully adopt them.

You know how to build an active base of supporters – maybe because you have a background in campaigning, membership, fundraising, sales or marketing.

The successful candidate will lead a team working on two prototype projects that will help to grow our membership base (in early childhood education), and build a member journey (or customer journey).

A background or interest in lean, agile or design-thinking would be as asset. An appreciation of trade unions, education and campaigning is essential.

NZEI Te Riu Roa is a highly respected union of more than 48,000 people working in the education sector in NZ. We endeavour to apply the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi and to maximise the contribution we make to a decent society for all tamariki and their families.

This role is fixed-term (2 years), full-time.

We offer competitive terms and conditions of employment, a great place to work and the opportunity to make a direct contribution to the lives of educators and their students.
