The Primary Classroom Teachers Advisory Group (PCTAG) promotes the participation of classroom teachers in NZEI, and advises NZEI's National Executive on professional and industrial issues specific to primary teachers.
PCTAG was established as a pilot in 2001. In 2002, the National Executive reviewed and endorsed its continuation as an official NZEI group, and in February 2003, elections were held to select the group members.
