Primary Teachers Lump Sum Payment
If you were an NZEI member and employed as a teacher or short or long term relieving teacher in a school covered by the Primary Teachers Collective Agreement on November 30 2007 you are eligible for the lump sum payment that formed part of the settlement. More details can be found here.
Primary Teachers who are no longer employed in a state or state integrated school. If you were employed and an NZEI member on November 30 2007 but are no longer employed, you will need to fill in a form to claim the lump sum and back pay. The form is available here. You will need to fill this form in even if you have previously notified your details to NZEI or your payroll agency.
Primary Teachers who are currently employed in a state or state integrated school. If you did not receive the lump sum payment or back pay and believe that you were eligible for it and you are currently employed in a school covered by the Primary Teachers Collective Agreement, please contact your field officer to discuss your case.

Primary and Area School Teachers Settle
Primary Settlement
NZEI Te Riu Roa has successfully negotiated fair pay settlements for thousands of primary and intermediate school teachers and for area school teachers.
The primary settlement recognises the importance of middle and senior leadership in schools. The ratification process runs through February and there will be meetings in your region if you want to find out more about the settlement before voting.

Indicative information about units
Area School Teachers' Settlement
The area school teachers’ settlement will give union members a four percent pay rise each year for the next three years and a $750 additional payment. It will also deliver 400 extra units into those schools to financially recognise teachers who are taking on extra leadership responsibilities. 200 will be given in 2009, with another 200 in 2010.
