
INFORMATION FOR PROVISIONALLY REGISTERED TEACHERS IN SCHOOLS

- Congratulations on your teacher registration; being granted provisional registration means you are now a member of the teaching profession.
- This NZEI Update provides a guide containing information to assist you at the start of your employment as a teacher.
- Similar NZEI Updates have been provided for the principal and tutor teachers at your school.
Actions:
Worksite representatives:
Arrange a face-to-face meeting with any provisionally registered teachers and provide a copy of this NZEI Update.
- Explain the benefits of NZEI membership and invite them to join.
- Ensure the PRT ticks the box on the membership form indicating s/he is a Year One or Year Two Teacher.
Provisionally registered teachers:
- Meet with the worksite representative to learn more about NZEI and the benefits of becoming a member.
- Read through the information (guide available for download) contained in this NZEI Update, and discuss this with your tutor teacher at your next meeting.
