Search Engines and databases
According to a recent study the World Wide Web is estimated to contain approximately 800 million pages of publicly-accessible information. Since there is no standardised method of indexing this material, finding it can be a challenge. One search engine won't always find what you want. Alta Vista, for instance, is the net's largest search engine but indexes only 31 million pages and four million Usenet news groups. Included here are most of the best search engines on the net.
