Kindergarten Lump Sum Payments and Back Pay

kindergarten teachersLump sum and back payments are being made to kindergarten teachers over the next few weeks. To qualify, kindergarten teachers must have been NZEI members and working in a kindergarten on both November 30 2007 and March 20 2008. Read more.

study awardsAs part of the 2007-2010 Collective Agreement Bargaining round, NZEI have negotiated a range of opportunites for members to enhance their practice and/or engage in qualifications eg: Area School and Primary Teacher Sabbaticals and Area School Teacher Study Support Grants.

Negotiated in previous bargaining rounds and again offered in 2008 (for the 2009 Academic Year) are Study Awards for Primary and Area School Teachers, Study Awards and Sabbaticals for Principals together with a range of Blingual Education, Special Education and other Fellowships and Prestigious Awards. Don't miss out - applications close in July.

New Legislation on Flexible Working Arrangements

flexible working arrangementsWork is pressured, we have more work than hours to do it in, and few of us have the time or energy for much else. On July 1st 2008 a new law providing the right to request flexible working arrangements comes into effect. The NZCTU has more information about this change in legislation.
