Primary Principals' Collective Agreement (PPCA)

Members' Indicative Ballot

As reported in your NZEI Update,  your NZEI PPCA negotiating team has adjourned negotiations to consult with members after six days of bargaining with the Ministry of Education.

Your negotiating team believes that the Ministry’s offer for settlement currently on the table is unsatisfactory. Before the team proceeds any further, NZEI believes that members need to provide a further clear mandate.

Please indicate which one of the following two options you support. Note that principals will need to be prepared to support any rejection of the current offer with a campaign of activities to persuade government to improve its offer.

Option 1: I support the stance taken by the negotiating team and would not vote in favour of the current Ministry offer. I call on the Ministry of Education to return to the negotiating table with an improved offer on the outstanding issues. I understand that in rejecting the current Ministry offer I am indicating that I would support an industrial campaign, as determined by NZEI’s National Executive, to persuade the Ministry to improve their offer.

for option 1

Or

Option 2: If the current Ministry offer was put to a ratification vote, I would vote in favour of settlement.

for option 2
