Proposed changes to ACC that would affect Support Staff

Following Government announcements on proposed changes to ACC, NZEI have prepared a submission to the Transport and Industrial Relations Select Committee. There are significant implications for support staff if the changes come into effect. An increase to ACC levys will prove difficult let alone a change to how compensation is calculated. The proposal suggests compensation should be calculated on the previous 4 weeks' earnings, which for support staff will be problematic if an accident happens in the week following an unpaid term break.
