Pay and Employment Equity - Group Special Education

Pay and Employment Equity reviews are now underway in the Ministry of Education, which includes NZEI members working in Group Special Education (GSE).

The review is being conducted in accordance with the Government’s goal of ensuring that job choice, job opportunities and remuneration in public sector organisations are not affected by gender.

The principles underpinning the Ministry review, which all parties have signed, can be found here.

Survey of MoE staff

As part of the PaEE review in the Ministry of Education, a survey was sent out to staff. The purpose of this survey was to ask about your experience and observations of particular situations that you thought would add value to the work of the committee.

The survey has been completed, and a summary of results is available.

Regular communications to members

NZEI will be posting a regular communication to GSE members, one per month, after each meeting of the Review committee.

This is a joint effort from NZEI, PSA and MoE to MOE staff.  We hope it will give you a clear picture as to the progress and findings of the committee, as well as letting you know when there are opportunities for you to be further involved.
