NZEI members take anti-GERM message straight to Hekia Parata
A vocal group of about 40 NZEI Te Riu Roa members from local schools and kindergartens took the anti-GERM message to Education Minister's front door - the front door of her electorate office in Porirua, that is.
The picketers wore red and black to support Christchurch colleagues, and were heartened by the announcement that the Salisbury School closure had been overturned by the courts. Even more heartening was the overwhelming support from members of the public - nearly every car that passed tooted their support for the teachers and support staff.
Green MP Catherine Delahunty was on hand to receive messages from local schools about their views on recent education reforms, which she will pass on the Hekia Parata.
