A congratulations certificate is available from NZEI for presentation to members who are completing their first two years of teaching and have been undertaking their advice and guidance programme successfully.

The Ministry has started its consultative process with parents and the education sector over the draft new national standards and the proposed “reporting to parents” format. Primary teachers and principals and other NZEI members are encouraged to participate in the consultation process and share their views with parents in their school community.
