![]() Last year the Government announced a $400 million cut to early childhood services. $295 million of the cuts targeted teacher-led services which employed between 80 - 100% qualified and registered teachers. This year's budget did not reinstate the funding for services affected by last year's cuts. Funding levels are still capped at 80% qualified teachers. The Government is refusing to invest in one of the fundamental elements of high quality ECE - 100% qualified teachers.
Thankyou to all those who attended the rally and march. It was a big success and achieved widespread media coverage including TV3 News, Stuff and One News.
